Unfortunately, Western Australia still has strict limitation periods for claims of other forms of physical and psychological (non-sexual) child abuse. WA is the only Australian state or territory to retain its civil statutes of limitation on some forms of institutional child abuse. All other states and territories have removed time limitations for all forms of child abuse, including sexual abuse and physical abuse, while Western Australia has only removed the limitations for child sexual abuse.
